An Election meeting at Davanagere under the president ship of Com Narayana Swamy DP Davanagere was held on 1st April 2013 at 11.30 hours comrades K.S.Seshadri Circle Secretary, Com A.C,Krishna Reddy Circle Finance Secretary, Com Hiriyanna ACS, Com Gopal Naik DS Dvg, com Swamy senior leader, Bro Gamgappa Circle President SWA, Com L.Govindappa DS Shimoga, Com H.Nagaraj Senior leader Com Dayalkumar Bro H.S.Nagaraj addressed the meeting. At BIDAR:Under the presdintship of Com.A.N. Rao about 85 members participated with
all enthusiasm.Com.V.Shetty Dist President declared NFTE will emerge Victorious in the
forthcoming Election.
At Gulbarga: More than 200 members attended the well arranged meeting.
Com. B.N. Mammani presided the meeting. Com Kistaiah Dist Secretary,
Com.Raje Shivasharnappa Dist Organising Secretary pledged to work for the great victory of
NFTE.
In all the above meetings Com.Islam Ahmed All India President,
Com. K.S.Sheshadri, Circle Secretary and other senior Leaders spoke
and narrated failures of the BSNLEU on all issues including Bonus, 78.8
IDA fixations, restoration of LTC/BSNLMRS etc., and assured NFTE will
fight for getting all those benefits which are deprived to the employees
due to failure of BSNLEU.

On 19-03-2013 an excellent election meeting and General Body held at Mudabidre under the Leadership of

Branch Secretaries’ convention of Karnataka Circle held successfully on 27th January 2013:- Branch Secretaries, District Secretaries and Circle Office barears and leaders of NFTE-BSNL, Karnataka Circle was held at Bellary on 27th January 2013. Convention was presided by Com Vasu N Naik Circle President, K.S.Seshadri Circle Circle Secretary and A.C.Krishna Reddy Circle Finance Secretary addressed on behalf of Circle/ CHQ and explaining the new recognition rules and the importance of getting recognition to NFTE in the forth coming referendum in BSNL. The Association of GUPTAJI through out India from Jammu Kashmir to Kanya Kumari and Gujarat to West Bengal with all workers of P&T movement and NFTE – BSNL movement worth remembering .
Com. O.P.Guptaji lead the Indian P&T Trade Union Movement specially and workers Trade movement in General starting from at the age of 24 years i.e. since 1946. He was brought to the Trade Union movement at Calcutta by Com. Dada Ghosh. Since then a dismissed employee of Postal Staff worker union Com. O.P. Guptaji entered P&T movement during 1945 itself. A Towering personality who stood steadfast during all critical juncture and with all sacrifices. During 1947 in the period of Jawarlal Neharu P&T movement was the first union to serve strike notice for their genuine demands for Wage Revision. He was put behind the Bars because of his action and he was imprisoned for nearly 3 to 4 years. This incidence itself establishes his sacrifice for championing the cause of workers. Only one Trade Union Leader who could carry forward all workers/Leaders together to do yeomen service to the working class. His greatness is during the period of Trade Union service spreading to 64 years, he negotiated during all the strikes with all the Prime Ministers starting from Jawarlal Nehru to A.B. Vajapayee and successfully brought out the demands in favour of P&T workers specially introduction of Time Bound Promotion scheme to all the employees i.e OTBP w.e.f. 30 th November 1983, BCR w.e.f 31st of October 1990 and the restructured scheme 1994. The negotiation in getting maximum benefits to P&T workers in particular and Central Government in General. he negotiated with Group of Ministers chaired by Com. Indrajit Guptaji who was the Home Minster in the cabinet of I.K.Gujaral the then PM. With great pride we have to place on record that Com. O.P.Guptaji and then PM I.K.Gujral were college mates in the prestigious college Lahore in undivided India. In the latest tribute expressed by Sri. Kuldip Nayyar recently when I.K.Gujral passed away “The central Government Employees Pay Hike though it was opposed by many it was settled by I.K.Gujral to the satisfaction of all section of Central Government employees and in personnel conversation Sri. Kuldip Nayar it was remarked that workers and officer of Central Government has to be given their due since they are also contribution to the Nation”. It indicates the mindset of Com. O.P. Guptaji towards workers of entire P&T movement.
Even before formation of dept of Telecom/DTS in to BSNL on 6th, 7th and 8th September 2000 , the entire Telecom Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ workers under his leadership along with FNTO,BTEF successfully went on strike for three days during the regime of PM Sri.A.B. Vajapayee and Sri. Ram Vilas Paswasan then Communication Minister. The major demands even if Govt. forced the workers to accept the formation of the BSNL Limited the keen issues involving workers i.e.(1) Financial viability (2)The Pension under Govt Rules ( 3)Job security, the three major demands were achieved specially to the workers who switch over to BSNL they have to be paid Pension invariably from consolidated fund of India under Rule 37 A which is available only to BSNL out of 246 CPSUs. This issue is brainchild of Com. O.P. Guptaji. Now all the absorbed BSNL employees to the tune of 4.5 Lakhs expressed their gratitude for championing cause of workers. Always Guptaji in his mind and heart formulating real cause of workers since he is the embodiment of workers movement. Specially so far no trade union leader might have succeeded in regularizing Casual Mazdoors/Daily Wages workers to the tune of 2 Lakhs made the movement historical, even on the formation of BSNL on 01-10-2000. As a protective measure even he got regularized 300 Ayas who were taking care Women Employees’ babies in the crèche. The achievement of Guptaji and contribution to the Indian P&T trade union movement is voluminous but at this juncture of Grief, words will not and cannot do everything.
Therefore all the fraternity, associate, leaders, members and workers express our sincere and heartfelt Tearful Tributes to the departed Leader Com. O.P. Guptaji.
The NFTE-BSNL/NFPTE and all the Associations/Unions of Karnataka Circle dip its Flag in deep respect praying almighty to give strength to his family members and to us to bear the heavy loss due to his demise.

The NFTE (BSNL) dips NFTE Flag in deep regret with heavy heart the passing away of Ex. Prime Minister of INDIA Sri.I.K.Gujral ji who was close friend and associate as well as College mate of Sri. O.P. Guptaji who is a great Leader of P&T Movement both were studying together at Prestigious College of Lahore in undivided INDIA. It is not out of place to mention the yeoman contribution of Sri. I.K. Gujral ji who settled & implemented FIFTH Pay Commission report to all Central Government Employees in General & as we were part of P&T Dept. the BSNL employees in particular definitely requires to be remembered for the cause.
The new Doctrine of Foreign Policy was adopted by Sri. I.K.Gujaral ji when he was a External Minister as well as Prime Minister of India during 1997-1998. He was well applauded by the World Fraternity
Once again NFTE(BSNL) members in particular & BSNL Employee in General pay Respectful/Tearful Homage to beloved Sri. I.K.Gujral ji pray almighty to give strength to the family members & friends to bear this heavy loss.
